Billboard's 21 Under 21: Our Five Fave Acts

We're loving these 5 acts from Billboard's 21 under 21 list!

Billboard unveiled their list of the 21 best artists under 21, and it's chock-full of some of pop music's strong young talent right now. From One Direction to Justin Bieber to Cher Lloyd, there are some heavy-hitters noted by Billboard, but we wanted to pay our respects to the underaged (but over-talented!) artists who really came into their own in 2013.

Join us as we count down our personal faves from Billboard's 21 Under 21 list:

5. Ariana Grande

It's no secret that we love Ariana Grande. We've not only picked out her best lyrics from her debut LP Yours Truly, we've also deCODED the words to the catchiest tune on her record. The "Baby I" singer surprised us with her big Marey-Carey-esque vocals, and we seriously can't get enough of her music!

4. Earl Sweatshirt

Part of the rap crew Odd Future, group leader Tyler, The Creator gets a lot of buzz, but it's mainly for his antics. The crew's music, however, gets a lot of cred for its member Earl Sweatshirt. The hip-hop prodige just released his album Doris to high critical acclaim, and with his hard-hitting single "Chum", we see big things in the "Future" for the young rapper.

3. Lorde

She's probably 2013's most buzzed-about pop singer, so we had to include Lorde on this list. There's no way you currently don't have "Royals" on your iPod playing on repeat, and with her debut LP Pure Heroine coming out in just a few days, everybody has Lorde on their lips!

2. Emblem3

After checking out Emblem3's handwritten lyrics to "Chloe (You're The One That I Want)" back in April, we were hooked on the threesome that made their big break on The X Factor US. Mixing their unique blend of pop, rock, and hip-hop, their first album Nothing To Lose has cemented them into famous boy band status.

1. Miley Cyrus

We know that Miley isn't necessarily a new artist — she's been making music since 2007! — but 2013 was definitely the defining year for the young starlet. Revamping her image, changing up her music style and gaining cred with the music industry, her album Bangerz is out at the beginning of October, and it'll essentially be the rebirth of Miley Cyrus!
