As we have all heard by now, this weekend Taylor Swift was THE big winner at the American Music Awards on Sunday. She took home the awards for Artist of the Year, Favorite Country Music Album, and Favorite Female Country Artist. Being a winner isn't something new for Swift though, her current single 'Sparks Fly' is one of many songs she can count as #1 hits.

The video for the single was shot during the making of her tour DVD 'Speak Now World Tour' which came out on Monday, November 21st. It features footage from her tour and all the fun antics that happen on stage, including ballerina's, mock weddings, and even pouring rain at an outdoor show.

The song itself is about romance, the feeling of a crush, and wanting an encounter with somebody to turn into something more. We wanted to decode the lyrics to 'Sparks Fly' to get a better idea of the stuff Taylor is trying to say...
The way you move is like a full-on rainstorm / And I'm a house of cards / You're the kind of reckless that should send me running / But I kinda know that I won't get far

From these opening lyrics, it's clear that Taylor is describing somebody she likes, somebody that makes her shaky like a house of cards, and somebody that she can't bring herself to run away from.
Drop everything now, meet me in the pouring rain / Kiss me on the sidewalk, take away the pain / 'Cause I see sparks fly / Whenever you smile

The chorus contains the most romantic and carefree lyrics of the whole song. While in the rest of the song she's hinting that this guy may not be right for her, she wants to just drop everything and only think about the present.
Get me with those green eyes, baby / As the lights go down / Give me something that'll haunt me / When you're not around

'Sparks Fly' is rumored to be about country singer Jake Owen. Here are a few clues that point to him: 1. He has green eyes. 2. In the liner notes for the song, Taylor hid the message "PORTLAND, OREGON" which is where she met Jake for the first time when she opened for him at a bar there! Seems plausible...
I'll run my fingers through your hair / And watch the lights go wild / Just keep on keeping your eyes on me / It's just wrong enough to make it feel right

Taylor has said that this song is about falling for the wrong person, which is echoed in the lyrics "it's just wrong enough to make it feel right."

Look at the lyrics and listen to the song to decide for yourself: What do YOU think 'Sparks Fly' is about?
