If you've ever wanted to take a journey through the backstory of country star Dierks Bentley's life, his autobiographical single "I Hold On" off his forthcoming album Riser tells the tale of his past. It's a song about being a young musician trying his best to make it in the music business while keeping his values close, and Bentley claims that the lyrics were "written from such a real and emotional place".
The song's music video lays out the singer/songwriter's crucial point in his life, shot in Nashville as well as on the road. Bentley says of the clip, "I put a lot of pressure on making sure this video held up to what [I] wrote that day. I hope when people listen to it, they raise their beers up, but this time for the bigger idea of what we all stand for as country music fans...faith, love and freedom".
