Happy Graduation, Drake! 4 Inspirational Lyrics From The Recent High School Grad

Yes, you read that right: Drake the rapper is also a recent high school grad! Drizzy recently announced on Twitter that he had graduated with some pretty impressive grades, something that has been a long time coming since he left school in 2001 to play Jimmy Brooks on the TV series Degrassi: The Next Generation. His tweet was followed by thousands of retweets, favorites, and replies of congratulations from his fans. For our very own *congratulations* to the rapper, we decided to pick out 4 of his most inspirational lyrics:

4. Light Up

"They always tell me nobody's workin' as hard as you / And even though I laugh it off, man, it's probably true / 'Cause while all of my closest friends out partying / I'm just here making all of the music that they party to"

For all you Drake fans trying to make it through school while all your friends are out having fun: keep going! Nobody's working as hard as you meaning you're gonna achieve your dreams one day! Drake told you so.

3. Headlines

"I know I exaggerated things now I got it like that / Tuck my napkin in my shirt, cause I'm just mobbin like that"

This is Drake's version of "fake it 'til you make it" and it obviously worked for him. Maybe if you follow his advice you'll be able to live the Drizzy lifestyle, which I guess involves tucking your napkin into your shirt...

2. The Motto

"You only live once: that's the motto n**** YOLO / We bout it every day, every day, every day"

Rap fans found this particular lyric so inspirational that YOLO has since become a "thing" (we talked about it here). It's inspirational because it basically means live every day as if it were your last. Live in the moment. Get your high school diploma!

1. Make Me Proud

"I know things get hard / But girl you got it, girl you got it there you go"

Whenever you feel like quitting when the going gets tough, remember: Drake's so proud of you! He's so, he's so, he's so proud of you.
