My 3 Songs: Lyrics That'll Warm You Up

If you're north of the equator like we are, you know it's colder than a popsicle in Antarctica right now. We're seriously considering investing in some fashionable balaclavas. But just in case people start to mistake us for trendy robbers, we'll settle for songs that warm us up instead. Here are three great tunes (suggested by our users) that'll help you escape the cold—unless you're down under in opposite land, then this post can serve as a soundtrack to your warm weather frollicking:

3. Walking On Sunshine - Katrina & The Waves (Suggested by Carolin Lu)

I'm walking on sunshine / And don't it feel good, hey

Okay let's just take a minute and think about how hot it would be if you were to actually walk on the Sun. Like, if we can't even directly make eye contact with it because of the brightness caused by its incredibly hot temperatures, how are we expected to actually TOUCH it, and WALK ON IT, and FEEL GOOD about it? If that thought isn't enough to get you feeling toasty, I don't know what will.

2. Summertime Clothes - Animal Collective (Suggested by Jon Barcus)

Sweet summer night and I'm stripped to my sheets / Forehead is leaking, my AC squeaks

"Summertime Clothes" depicts those too-hot-to-sleep summer nights oh so well. You've thrown off your blankets in a fit of feverish frustration, and even though the air conditioner is 'keeping it chill, bro', it's probably kinda broken and overworked so its noisy creaking is keeping you up anyway. Even though you absolutely hate those sleepless summer nights at the time, it's all you want during winter's big chill.

1. Summertime - Will Smith (Suggested by Raymond Turner Sr Conspiracybrutha)

The temperature's about 88 / Hop in the water plug just for old times sake / Creak to ya crib, change your clothes once more / 'Cause you're invited to a barbecue that's startin' at 4

Will Smith goes over pretty much everything everyone loves about summer in "Summertime". Apart from its warm temperatures, the sunny season brings relaxation and socialization. Backyard barbeques,  pool parties, and  beach bonfires are aplenty, which not only keeps your body warm, but warms your heart too (awww!).
