PREMIERE: DWNTWN Unveil 'Til Tomorrow' Lyric Video

We've got handwritten lyrics as a special bonus, too!

LA-based indie-pop group DWNTWN's latest single "Til Tomorrow" practically screams "SUMMER!" The song's hazy synths and airy vocals show its California Coast's influence, making it the perfect track to rescue us from the late-Winter doldrums. Today, we're giving you an exclusive first look at the song's lyric video, right here on MetroLyrics.

DWNTWN began as the musical project of Jamie Leffler and Robert Cepeda in 2010 at a time when both were recovering from bad break-ups — Jamie, from a break-up with Robert's brother, I might add! The two spent their weekends together writing songs and recording demos into an iPhone. After recovering from their mutual heartbreak, Jamie and Robert decided to turn those demo recordings into full-fledged songs, a moment that marked the beginning of the band's career in earnest. Along the way they've released a debut EP, The Red Room, and expended the group from two to four members.

"Till Tomorrow" is the first single off of an upcoming self-titled EP, scheduled for an April 29th release, and we're happy to bring you an exclusive first look at the song's lyric video. Watch it below:

Here's the story of how the band wrote "Til Tomorrow," courtesy of an interview that the band did with USA Today:

"We wrote 'Til Tomorrow' when we were housesitting a mansion in the Hollywood Hills. We brought a computer and a microphone with us, and left with a new song about feeling stuck in the same stale routine while others around you get to live in mansions. Truthfully though, we'd rather live in a little cabin by a lake."

And as a special added bonus today, we've got a handwritten sheet of the song's lyrics that the band filled out by hand. Check it out below:
