It's always an edge-of-our seats experience leading up to the reveal of Coachella's lineup every January, and this year was no exception. There were many fake lineups (some ridiculous, some believable) circulating that had us second-guessing ourselves but now we finally have the confirmed, totally official lineup. You can see it above with highlights like British cult rockers The Stone Roses, french pop ensemble Phoenix, and a Blur reunion. Of course the headliners are always great, but what about the other acts? Here are 4 that we're looking forward to:
Jessie Ware is the pop/R&B darling of the last year. With her debut album Devotion, Ware managed to sound both sultry and sad. Those attending the festival would do well to catch her, because she's going to be huge.
The Postal Service
("Such Great Heights")
One of the big "reunion" stories of this year's Coachella/the 2013 music festival circuit is the reassembly of The Postal Service. The duo, consisting of Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard and electronic producer Jimmy Tamborello aka Dntel was a favorite in the early 2000's with the indie pop crowd, and for good reason. We can't wait to see if they bring any new music to the table!
Tegan and Sara
We've been long-time fans of Tegan and Sara ever since their angsty, romantic album So Jealous. The twins are back with a bit of a different sound (think dance-ier, more electronic) and an insanely catchy new song (above). We can't wait to hear old favorites and fall in love with new music — plus the sisters have awesome stage banter.
("Age Of Consent")
New-wave rockers New Order made headlines last year when they reunited after a four year hiatus to play a few high-profile live gigs. Now the band, which was founded by the members of Joy Division after its lead singer Ian Curtis committed suicide, is one of the banner acts at Coachella 2013. Their energetic, electronic dance songs are a blast to dance to and we can't wait.
Which acts are you most excited for? What do you think of the lineup? Tell us in the comments!
