The MetroLyrics Year-End Awards: Vote For The Hardest Partying Lyric Of 2012

It's Day 2 of the MetroLyrics Year-End Awards, where YOU get to vote and crown one artist the winner of their category! We're not sure if you guys know this, but we like to party, so we're pretty fond of our Hardest Partying Lyric Of The Year Award. This category is filled with the lyrics that we've fist-pumped to all year, but which one made YOU party the hardest? Scroll down to check the nominees & vote in the poll...

Nicki Minaj — Starships

"Starships were meant to fly / Hands up and touch the sky / Can't stop 'cause we're so high / Let's do this one more time"

We're not necessarily sure what Nicki Minaj means when she's referencing "Starships": is it HER, her fans, or is she literally describing a moving object in the sky? No matter what Ms. Minaj is talking about, these lyrics were shouted on the top of our lungs multiple times this year, and definitely got the party going.

Bonus Material: Nicki Minaj's "Starships" was a contender in our 2012 Song of the Summer poll...did she take the title?

Flo Rida — Wild Ones (feat. Sia)

"Hey I heard you were a wild one / Oooh / If I took you home it'd be a home run / Show me how you'll do / I wanna shut down the club / With you..."

Is it just us, or has Flo Rida been given the gift of making flawless party-rap anthems? First, there was "Good Feeling" (which we bobbed our heads to profusely), plus "Whistle" (which we couldn't help but whistle along to), but the real party jam is "Wild Ones". With Sia's gorgeous voice gliding over the chorus, followed by big beats and Flo's verses about tearing up the club, this is a strong contender for Hardest Partying Lyric Of The Year.

Bonus Material: Watch the online video series The Warner Sound create a scene out of Flo Rida's "Wild Ones", plus more of his chart-topping hits.

Justin Bieber — Beauty and A Beat (feat. Nicki Minaj)

"Cause all I need / Is a beauty and a beat / Who can make my life complete / It's all about you, when the music makes you move / Baby do it like you do..."

At first listen, we weren't sure about partying hard to Justin Bieber's "Beauty And A Beat" lyrics. Since the song's by JB, of course it's a little ditty aimed at pleasing a girl, and let's be honest: those lyrics aren't all that party-hardy. But after multiple plays, we kind of love busting a move to the Biebs's jam...plus a little bit of crazy rap verses from Nicki Minaj herself! :P

Bonus Material: Remember when Justin said he was going to remove Selena Gomez's name from "Beauty And A Beat" because of their supposed 'breakup'?

Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen — Good Time

"Good morning and good night / I'll end up at twilight / It's gonna be alright We don't even have to try, it's always a good time"

If you told us that Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen would make a party song together at the beginning of the year, we wouldn't have believed you. But 2012 has been full of musical surprises, and the indie-pop songwriter + the Canadian folk-pop singer was definitely one of them. Vote Owl City & CJR if you're down to get down tonight!

Bonus Material: Take a peek into the Musical Mind of Adam Young, AKA Owl City, as he shares his favorite lyrics with us.

Ke$ha — Die Young

"I hear your heart beat to the beat of the drums / Oh what a shame that you came here with someone / So while you're here in my arms / Let's make the most of the night like we're gonna die young"

Written by Ke$ha herself, as well as Nate Ruess from fun., there's no doubt that whatever the glittery goddess touches, it will turn into party-hardy gold. "Die Young" was made for the dance floor, with its catchy chorus, dance-able beat, and overall party-hard vibe to it. Ke$ha could be a winner!

Bonus Material: Listen to Ke$ha anti-party her tune "Die Young" by stripping away the crazy beat and leaving only a synthesizer.

Now it's time to vote!
