Hi, gang! Welcome back to the fourth instalment of our Trending Tuesday series, in which we count down the top 10 songs we're spinning this week on Spotify. This week (Jan. 28), we've got a latin songstress dishing out her latest hit in Spanish, a new single from a famous country crooner, and not one but two massive songs by two massive pop stars rounding out the top end of our countdown. So sit back, relax, plug in your earbuds and go from 10-1 in this edition of #TT:
10. The 1975 - Settle Down
Why it's trending: Indie-rock breakout stars The 1975 had quite a successful 2013 with their self-titled debut album. Now, the band is ringing in the new year with their latest single off the record, and it's yet another ballad about being involved with a woman who's, well, already involved. Whoops!
Best lyric line: "For crying out loud, settle down / You know I can't be found with you / We get back to my house / Your arms, my mouth / Now I just stop myself around you..."
9. St. Vincent - Digital Witness
Why it's trending: Notable singer/songwriter St. Vincent is teasing the world with a new image (check out that fantastic hair!) as well as new music. With her self-titled fourth studio album due out this February, songs like "Birth in Reverse", as well as this stunning track, make up what could be her best album to date.
Best lyric line: "Digital witnesses / What's the point of even sleeping? / If I can't show it, you can't see me / What's the point of doing anything?"
8. Zendaya - My Baby
Why it's trending: The "Replay" singer is back with a fun and funky single, "My Baby", where she whole-heartedly embraces hip-hop and pop and melds it into one genre. We're expecting big things from the up-and-comer as the new year progresses!
Best lyric line: "We should have listened to each other's hearts / Falling in love in never part / We can make it happen if you bout that action..."
7. Shakira - Nunca Me Acuerdo De Olvidarte
Why it's trending: Latin pop sensation Shakira decided to drop Rihanna from her Spanish version of "Can't Remember To Forget You", and even though we miss the Barbadian singer a little bit off this new number, Shakira's powerful vocals and catchy hooks definitely make up for the loss.
Best lyric line: "Nunca me acuerdo de olvidarte / Nunca aprendi como dejarte ir / Mi mundo gira asi, alrededor de ti / Solo me acuerdo de una parte / Y no me acuerdo de olvidarte..."
6. Krewella - Human
Why it's trending: The electronic threesome that is better known as Krewella have just released their latest single from their debut Get Wet. "Human" is a gorgeous ode that reminds us all that we are all made up exactly the same way: we're loving this track!
Best lyric line: "They say pain is an illusion / This is just a bruise and / You are just confused but I am only human..."
5. Keith Urban - Cop Car
Why it's trending: Debuting his latest Fuse single at the 2014 GRAMMY Awards, country heartthrob and American Idol judge Keith Urban's "Cop Car" tells the tale of falling for a bad-yet-good girl and we can't get enough of it.
Best lyric line: "You were so innocent / But you were stealing my heart / I fell in love in the back of a cop car..."
4. Kylie Minogue - Into The Blue
Why it's trending: She's back! Australian siren Kylie Minogue will be releasing her 12th studio album, Kiss Me Once, this March, and this catchy & fun single is currently on replay on our Spotify players. We can't wait to hear the whole record!
Best lyric line: "When I got my back up against the wall / Don't need no-one to rescue me / Cause I ain't waiting up for no miracle / Yeah tonight I'm running free / Into the blue..."
3. One Direction - Midnight Memories
Why it's trending: As the latest single from their third album of the same name, the boys from 1D are singing about having the night of their lives with a few lucky fans. We like to think that we're one of them when we blast this track.
Best lyric line: "I know nothing's making sense / For tonight let's just pretend / I don't wanna stop so give me more / Midnight memories..."
2. Taylor Swift - All Too Well
Why it's trending: We've never seen such a tender, raw version of Taylor Swift than her performance at The GRAMMYs this past weekend, pulling out all the stops to sing and play piano to "All Too Well". The hair-whipping was definitely something you could describe as "epic".
Best lyric line: "And you call me up again just to break me like a promise / So casually cruel in the name of being honest..."
1. Katy Perry - Dark Horse
Why it's trending: Are you ready for a perfect storm? Also at the 56th annual GRAMMYs, KP took the stage and performed a spooky rendition of her Prism hit with collaborator Juicy J on hand to lend out his rap verses. As probably our favorite track off Perry's latest LP, we definitely can't stop playing it.
Best lyric line: "Make me your Aphrodite / Make me your one and only / But don't make me your enemy..."
