I think the song is about an acid trip. The chorus is explaining how she feels like she is going to panic because she is in a room with so many people. and how it can make her go into a bad trip.and how you cant sleep while on the ****. Also when it says im waiting im fading i floating away is refering to how she is going into a different reality.

wow. i think you guys are trying to read to much into this. stop overanalyzing it. its a song that goes into the theme of people having mental breakdowns. thats all.

Apparently the lead singer said that the whole album had a mental breakdown theme, and that he and the band hoped this song really potrayed it. Based on that piece of information, I would think the song is about someone having a mental breakdown. Whatever the song is about, it's still an amazing song!

I think you're all wrong. I think she cheated on her husband / boyfriend and he's singing about how he had her once and wants her for good but can't.

Will you step in line, or release the glitch = will you keep the secret, or will you tell him what you did

can you fall asleep with panic switch = can you sleep next to him knowing what you've done

I'm waiting and fadaing and floating away = waiting for her to come back to him but is getting restless of waiting.

when you see youself in a crowded room, do you think i'll snitch, are you pistol whipped = are you worried it's gonna get out

Nice job of interpreting the song.(inner demon, ect.) This is something I never would have thought of. Is there a way that we could ask the author of the song for an explaination?

I think it's about him stalking his ex-girlfriend.

he's still sleeping on the right side of the bed. (like he did with her)

got a pink slip (she broke up with him)

wanting to brand her skin (so other men will know she was once his)

does she feel safe in a crowded room?

I think he's fighting the urge to stalk her and give in to the dark side.

i think this is about an inner demon...
kind of the id of the character/singer. it seems like he has done something terrible, and he can't leave the scene behind, in his head. he did something bad with his crazy, red-side. it wasn't worth it, and the good blue or superego bleeds back into his views. this is good for society. but he gets ideas of wanting to draw back to his bad side. he sees his red side and it could feel like getting pistol-whipped! the way he is surprised and frightened to see this side of himself show face. it is a scary side of himself. do you step in line and be a good person like you are supposed to, or do you let your id come out, releasing the glitch? the glitch being the animal side, wanting out. turning to your demonic and animalistic side. doing what you want.

pink slip refers to ownership of this side of himself. he wants to brand the red side of himself, as if to say, this is mine; i own it. i control it. but in fact the red side can not be owned. it is its own entity and it will not be controlled.

the waiting and fading and floating away must be him giving and letting the red / id side take over..

i dunno this is just what im thinking.. what do you think?
