Pink Biography

Pink was born under the name: Alecia Moore in September of 1969. She is a singer of rock genre from Philadelphia whose debut album entitled: “Can’t Take Me Home” released in 2000, made her a well-known personality because of the hit: “There You Go”, which became part of the top 10 list. Pink got her nickname when she was still a young kid because of getting a hot pink blush on her face during a moment of embarrassment.

Pink was raised in a musical family and started as a dancer at the age of 13, then eventually became a backing vocalist for “Schoolz of Thought”, the town’s hip-hop group. At age 14, Pink started songwriting and in that same year, she was invited to sing every Friday over at Club Fever.
One night, she was discovered by MCA Records and recommended that she audition for “Basic Instinct”, an R&B group. Pink was accepted, but the group did not last long because of differences between the members. Pink then transferred to “Choice”, a girl trio, still under the R&B genre which was also disbanded due to differences. Pink, however, impressed L.A. Reid not only with her strong vocals, but also with her songwriting skills, thus, she was given a solo contract with Laface.
Pink’s first album (Can’t Take Me Home) instantly turned double-platinum, with its three most popular singles: “There U Go”, “You Make Me Sick”, and “Most Girls”. In the summer of 2000, Pink toured with ‘N Sync and realized that she wanted to move away from being regarded as a teen act. While working on her next album, she then joined in the remaking of “Lady Marmalade”, which was part of the soundtrack for the movie: “Moulin Rouge”. It became a hit and helped add to Pink’s growing fan base.

At the last quarter of the year, Pink’s single “Get The Party Started” was introduced, and became one of the Top Five, therefore becoming her greatest hit to date. Her second album: “M!ssundazstood” also became a big success as it immediately turned into double-platinum. The single: “Don’t Let Me Get Me,” found under the said album also became the people’s favorite as it quickly rose to the Top Ten. Pink continued to make one hit from another. In January 2006, she tied the knot with Corey Hart, a motocross racer. She also is a supporter of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
