True. It is based on an actual event. Quite a horrific event, actually. However, it's actually about a girl who was kidnapped from a punk show. She escaped alive by flirting with the kidnapper to gain his trust, therefore giving her a chance to escape when his guard was down. Kurt was so disgusted by what he read about it, that he wrote this song. The kidnappers would brutally abuse and beat her and the torture her with an actual blowtorch, hence the lyrics in the song. Just adding to the wealth of knowledge here. :D

This song is based upon an actual event, in Kurts home town of Aberdeen Seatle (or Olympia) there was a girl hitchhiker who went through some real bad stuff, so K. Cobain wrote this song, suprisingly from the rapists point of view. Thats what makes this tune much more haunting
