Pussycat Dolls Biography

The Pussycat Dolls are an American pop girl group. They are founded and choregraphed by Robin Antin. The group was originally a burlesque troupe in 1995, and based out of LA. They eventually negotiated a recording contract with Interscope Records in 2003. Antin then recasted the group to include lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, Melody Thornton, Jessica Sutta, Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt and Carmit Bachar. Carmit quit the group in 2008.

The girls have been a huge success with a ton of hits including Don't Cha, Buttons, StickwitU, When I Grow Up, and I Hate This Part. The group has been criticized for too much sexuality, explicit dance routines and over emphasis of their leader singer who basically sings everything but the backup vocals.

Solo Careers
Jessica Sutta appeared on a tracks forPaul Van Dyke (White Lies) and Dave Aude (Make It Last). White Lies became a huge hit on the Hot Dance Airplay chart, and was actually Paul Van Dykes best single.

Nicole Scherzinger prepared to release a solo album "Her Name Is Nicole" but then failed to release it. She released for solo singles, and none of them made impacts on the charts. Nicole also featured in Diddy's hit single "Come To Me".

Melody Thorton appeared on rapper Jibbs third single "Go Too Far" and has said she wants to pursue a solo album but nothing has come up yet.

Kimberly Wyatt has appeared on VH1 reality TV show Celbracadabra

Ashley Robers had a support role in a dance drama called Make It Happen

Carmit plans to release an album sometime in 2009 but since leaving the dolls has continued with a live cabaret show "The Zodiac Party"
