Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger to star in Andrew Lloyd Webber musical

Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls is set to star in Andrew Lloyd Webber's latest musical.

The stunning pop star will reportedly join the cast of the 'Phantom of the Opera' sequel when it opens in London's West End next year.

The musical, called 'Love Never Dies', is set on New York's Coney Island a decade after the events of the original 'Phantom'.

Scherzinger was telling people about her involvement in the musical during a party at the Mirage casino in Las Vegas over the weekend, insiders told the New York Daily News.

Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts has reportedly told fans in London that the band have split up.

Ashley, 27, was leaving the Metropolitan Hotel in Mayfair, London, when she was reportedly in tears and said to fans: "This is the last time we'll be in the UK as a band. We've broken up. We're sorry."

However, a spokesman for the band later said: "The girls are still together. They are in Beirut for a gig."

There have been constant reports that the band are going to split as the focus on lead singer Nicole Scherzinger has allegedly led to arguments.

The Pussycat Dolls reportedly rack up �18,000 bar bill in London

The Pussycat Dolls reportedly racked up an �18,000 bar bill during a recent night out in London.

It is claimed the girl band drunk a selection of champagne, vodka and brandy during a night out at the trendy club Alto in Soho.

A source said: "The girls hired the entire VIP area for them and a big group of friends. They spent �18,000 on two eight-litre bottles of Belvedere vodka, super magnum bottles of champagne and Hennessy brandy.

"They were really enjoying themselves, dancing on the tables, singing and knocking back plenty of drinks."

It is claimed the band's lead sin .....

The Pussycat Dolls' new video Hush Hush features a clip of Gloria Gaynor singing her classic girl-power anthem I Will Survive.

Taken from their second studio album Doll Domination, the video has the Dolls singing as a band before cutting to Gaynor belting out the '80s disco hit with her hair blown out to the sides and wearing a slinky outfit.

The clip was a parting gift from the band that won over Australian audiences on their May tour and drew an avalanche of attention for bringing the sensationalist Lady GaGa along as their support act.

One band member called GaGa one of her "favourite dolls" amid reports GaGa upstaged them.

The Dolls picked up their act .....

Pussycat Doll Jessica Sutta had to miss the line-up after she injured her back during the band's first Sydney show.

Sutta sat out the performance in the Doll Domination tour that has drawn more attention for its second act, Lady Gaga.

The back injury occurred early in the Acer Arena performance, with the redheaded doll later rejoining, it was reported.

Doctors, however, advised Sutta to sit out other engagements over the weekend.

"She is now concentrating on getting better for the rest of her Australian performances," a Universal spokeswoman said.

Burlesque star Dita Von Teese is happy that the Pussycat Dolls stopped their burlesque acts and started singing.

She said: "It's really great they decided to become a pop group and they've left the pseudo-burlesque alone."

She added, as quoted by Scottish newspaper the Daily Record: "It drives me crazy when groups like the Pussycat Dolls try to sanitise and take away the sexual and nudity aspects of burlesque."

The band were started by Robin Antin and Christina Applegate and started off as a burlesque troupe performing at The Viper Room in Los Angeles.

The band later reshuffled its members adding vocalists Nicole Scherzinger and Melody Thornton and became .....

Now that her highly-anticipated "comeback album" (Circus) is out amid a flurry of media appearances, Britney Spears has confirmed nearly two months of arena shows for spring of next year. "The Circus Starring Britney Spears" first touches down in New Orleans on March 3 and runs through an April 28 stop in Rosemont, IL. The Pussycat Dolls are opening .....

The Pussycat Dolls have announced an early 2009 run through the UK, beginning with a January 18 stop in Aberdeen and winding down on February 6 in Liverpool.
