Runaway Love Lyrics

Ludacris

Yeah and it go a little somethin' like this Yeah and it go a little somethin' like this
Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love
Now little Lisa's only nine years old She's tryin' to figure out why the world is so cold Why she's all alone and they never met her family Momma's always gone and she never met her daddy
Part of her is missin' and nobody'll listen Momma's on drugs, gettin' *** up in the kitchen Bringin' home men at different hours of the night Startin' with some laughs, usually endin' in a fight
Sneakin' in her room when her momma's knocked out Tryin' to have his way and little Lisa says ouch She tries to resist but then all he does is beat her Tries to tell her mom but her momma don't believe her
Lisa's stuck up in a world on her own Forced to think that Hell is a place called home Nothin' else to do but get some clothes and pack She says she's 'bout to run away and never come back
Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love
Little Nicole is only ten years old She's steady tryin' to figure why the world is so cold Why she's not pretty and nobody seems to like her Alcoholic step-dad always wanna strike her
Yells and abuses, leaves her with some bruises Teachers ask questions, she's makin' up excuses Bleedin' on the inside, cryin' on the out It's only one girl really knows what she's about
Her name is little Stacy and they become friends Promise that they'll always be tight 'til the end Until one day, lil' Stacy gets shot A drive-by bullet went stray up on her block
Now Nicole's stuck up in a world on her own Forced to think that Hell is a place called home Nothin' else to do but get her clothes and pack She says she's 'bout to run away and never come back
Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love
Little Erica is eleven years old She's steady tryin' to figure why the world is so cold So she pops *** to get rid of all the pain Plus she's havin' sex with her boy who's sixteen
Emotions run deep as she thinks she's in love So there's no protection, he's usin' no glove Never thinkin' 'bout the consequences of her actions Livin' for today and not tomorrow's satisfaction
The days go by and her belly gets big The father bails out, he ain't ready for a kid Knowin' her momma would blow it all out of proportion Plus she lives poor, so no money for abortion
Erica is stuck up in a world on her own Forced to think that Hell is a place called home Nothin' else to do but get her clothes and pack She says she 'bout to run away and never come back
Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love
Runaway, runaway love Don't keep runnin' away I'll run away with you If you want me to
Yeah, I can only imagine what you goin' through, ladies Sometimes I feel like runnin' away myself So do me a favor right now and close your eyes And picture us runnin' away together When we come back, everything is gonna be okay Open your eyes
Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love Runaway love, runaway love

Tell Us What These Lyrics Mean To You...

Mandy Leighton -
I'd just like to point out a few things not all children that are abused are abused by people on drugs but most likely abused children will turn to drugs in later life I feel he's trying to point this out in the song. also Tylerthedruid do you not have a Heart I feel for you mate think you need some love in your life any abuse weather it happens once a million times is a horrible event that leaves emotion that are very hard to live with, I doubt you have ever felt emotions though I undestand that some people do indeed lie about abuse but abusers lie about abuseing to think about it...everyone is diffrent to group teen's into a catagory as you have and using the word's you used not only is an injustice to teen's it also point's out clearly that you very well share the mind of an abuser I hope you get the help you so clerly need were you not taught if you have nothing nice to say don''t say anything at all... it's really hard to wright song's and one's that will impact the world for the better I think he's done a good job on a hard subject and I for one would love to run away with Ludacris and any kids or adult's feeling this way.

i cry every time i hear this song .:(

To Tylerthedruid and everyone who agrees which his point of view: Just because you grew up in a perfect home with a perfect life with normal, happy parents doesnt mean that everyone has the same past. My home has been somewhere beentween the extreme abuse in this song and your perfect world. I watched my mom get beaten daily by my sober, biological father for the first 7 years of my life. When he tried to hit my brother and i, my mom stepped in between. Since i've dropped out of high school, and turned 18 he has stopped getting social security checks, and i haven't heard from him since. If having even that much drama in my past can relate me to this song, imagine the young girls and boys out there who actually do get raped and/or beaten everyday. And by the way, 11 year-olds do have sex here in the real world. My niece was raped very very young (maybe 4 or 5) and she has been sexually active since she was that age. Kids (usually and mostly girls) do what makes them feel as though they have value and worth, which when their boyfriend wants to have sex with them they hold onto that and that's how a whore is made. Instead of verbally anal-#!@%*# this song, you could get your lazy #!@%*# out on the street and see the real world with your own eyes. After spending a week or less with these kind of kids who have truely went through this (you can tell the real ones from the cry-babies) and you still think this song is bullshit, then you can go back to your suburb and find a trophy wife to raise kids for you. Then you can forget the abused, raped, and depressed children; they're better off without your criticisim.

i love this song...iits a great song i thnk he actually has a organization for run a way kids ...i hope the best and not the worst for any run a way kid out there who gets abused or for wat ever reason they ran away know that god id always with you Smiley :(

agreed!

Tylerthedruid

Not a bad song musically, but the lyrics are terrible. Child abuse is a problem, but this song is a melodramatic and unrealistic celebration of child abuse. The only people who will pretend to connect with the content in this song are attention-whoring teens who claim their parents or a friend's parents are abusive (tough luck if make you clean your room). It's a shame that they didn't focus on the realistic, subtle abuse that occurs more frequently. Instead, the truly abused are ignored in favor of hollywood style sob stories.

Please don't take this personally but, are you ignorant? That was a few examples of "REAListic" child abuse. The world isn't made of rainbows and candy, terrible things happen to people everyday. It's horrible to think of but it's the truth. I for one think that the song gives a creative view into some issues that happen in the world. And, it lets the people listening that are having similar troubles in their life know that they aren't the only ones, and that it will be okay.

so? whats your point? what u mean by sayin that the song does not talk about "realistic: child abuse, the situations in the song are pretty common and painful, thats my opinion ans i say it to not just defend the song. Im not trying to argue i just want to know why u think like that, and that way i will comprehend your point of u

lil Babi Girl

THIS SONG IS AMAZING!!!! it's kinda sad, cuz i kno how some of those kids would've felt in a situation like that. i've run away twice in 3 months, and my mom is on drugs, but doesn't know i know. and she's also abusive. "It's only one girl really knows what she about Her name is lil Stacy and they become friends Promise that they always be tight 'til the end Until one day lil Stacy gets shot A drive by bullet went stray up on her block Now Nicole stuck up in the world on her own Forced to think that hell is a place called home Nothing else to do but get some clothes and pack She says she's 'bout to run away and never come back." sad, cuz my name's Nicole and my only friend's name is Tracey.

Breigh Rox

Hey, I'll be your friend. My name is Breigh ( Pronounced Bree) . I totaly know what you mean. When I was small, as in 9, my mom and step dad were doing ****s and drank. I was physically abused, along with my sister whho was sexually abused. I was taken from my family when i was nine because of ****s, alchohal, filthy home and abuse towards my sister and I. I'll run away with you.
