Latino pop star Shakira has revealed she is a keen golfer.


The Colombian-born singer says she is a natural at the sport, thanks to her well-practised hip action.


‘I love golf,' she told US chat show host George Lopez.


‘I'm really bad at sports, believe it or not. If you threw a ball at me, you would probably break my face because I have no reflexes whatsoever.


‘But in golf, you just need concentration, of which I have plenty, and hip swing is very important.'


Lopez, 48, presented Shakira with a present - a new golf club with her name engraved on it.

Colombian singer Shakira has said she believes libido is the "engine of the world".


The 32-year-old star, who has been dating Antonio de la Rua for the last nine years, admitted she believes that sex is important.


She said to UK's The Observer Magazine: "I do think libido is the engine of the world. Forward or backwards. For good or ill. Sometimes when we repress our libido we regress.


"When we were in the Dark Ages, it was a question of humanity somehow managing to forget about itself. We put God in the centre of society, and people forgot about their own nature and desires."

The Colombian-born chart star said she has been feeling broody lately.


And she said she will take a break from her career when it happens.


She said: "[It's] less an intellectual decision than a physical calling.


"My body feels like it is ready to reproduce, to have a huge belly and carry babies.


"And when the baby comes, I don't want to be in the middle of 100,000 projects."


Shakira, 32, has been dating investment banker boyfriend Antonio de la Rua for nine years.

She Wolf singer Shakira said her record label threatened to drop her when she was 17 years old.


The Columbian singer had already released two albums, but as there wasn't a big pop scene in Columbia at the time, the label threatened to drop her.

The 32-year-old star, whose new single She Wolf was recently released in the UK, said her dad told her to never give up, despite not making it in the choir.


She said to British newspaper The People: "I never made it to the school choir because the music teacher didn't like my voice. I was pretty sad. But he was probably right.
