To waste and choose or raise the dead
With pain behind go straight ahead
Room full of people grouping as one
I can't break out now
The time just won't come
To waste and choose which way to go
Decide for me, please let me know
Looked in the mirror saw I was wrong
If I could get back to where I belong
Where I belong
To waste and choose which way to go
I paused for one whom signs forbore
If we were immortal we would not bear
Washed up on the beat here
Struggle for air
I see you face still in my window
Tormented clouds won't set me free
Something must break now
This life isn't mine
Something must break now
Wait for the time
Well, something must break

Hard to discuss the meaning of the lyrics when they're so wrong. Two ways to choose , On a razor's edge, Remain behind go straight ahead. Room full of people. Room for just one. If I can't break out now the time just won't come. Two ways to choose, which way to go? Decide for me. Please let me know. Looked in the mirror. Saw I was wrong. If I could get back to where I belong, where I belong. Two ways to choose, which way to go? Had thoughts for one. Designs for both. But we were immortal. We were not there. Washed up on the beaches struggling for air. I see your face still in my window. Torments yet calms, won't set me free. Something must break now, This life isn't mine Something must break now, Wait for the time. Something must break. I love this song. I think the lyrics are aimed at Curtis' girlfriend Annik during a period when he is back with his wife and daughter. Curtis is agonising over who to be with. Or rather he knows who he wants to be with 'had thoughts for one' (Annik) but is either waiting for a sign from her 'please let me know' or simply can't find it within himself to leave. I'm not sure about the 'immortal' references but Curtis mentions 'immortalists' in another song so it could just be a shared literary reference. The rest would all make sense. I could of course be talking rubbish
