I am a singer who has toured Europe. I sung in rock bands back in the day. Bon Jovi was my favorite of the hair bands. When I tell you this is my favorite song of all time, that is saying something! I have sung and been exposed to go many genre's of music, and I choose this, although I think "Handel's Messiah" is a true masterpiece of divinely inspired work, and is spectacular considering the time it took for him to write the entire "book" alone. It was really hard to choose because among all the Bon Jovi songs this song is closely followed by "Always", "Silent Night" and "I'll be there for you". " I'll be there for you" has the most awesome lyrics, but "This ain't a love song" just hits a chord with me and takes me to another world. I like the video of Jon and the boys best, but I do like oriental beauty and the other version. The story is a bit corny, but interesting. Jon is a sexy performer and his performance, Live from London back in the day singing "Always" just knocks me off my feet! He has so much soul and emotion in his voice and everytime I have seen them in concert I have never left there unsatisfied. Truly nice guys who love their audience and appreciate us! Not all musicians are like that, believe me.
