I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
Oh God it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head
'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head
How do you feel? That is the question
But I forget you don't expect an easy answer
When something like a soul becomes initialized
And folded up like paper dolls and little notes
You can't expect a bit of folks
So while you're outside looking in
Describing what you see
Remember what you're staring at is me
'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head
How much is real? So much to question
An epidemic of the mannequins, contaminating everything
We thought came from the heart
But never did right from the start
Just listen to the noises
(Null and void instead of voices)
Before you tell yourself
It's just a different scene
Remember it's just different from what you've seen
I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
And all I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home

Sitting all alone inside your head
'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
And all I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head
And it's the stars
The stars that shine for you
And it's the stars
The stars that lie to you, yeah
And it's the stars
The stars that shine for you
And it's the stars
The stars that lie to you, yeah
I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
Oh God it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head
'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head
And it's the stars
The stars that shine for you, yeah
And it's the stars
The stars that lie to you, yeah
And it's the stars
The stars that shine for you, yeah
And it's the stars
The stars that lie to you, yeah yeah
Who are the stars?
Who are the stars that lie?

Read "Man in the Glass". Tells it all. Explains why there is a ? after the last two lines.

well, if you have watched the music video for this...i think it pertains to living a glamorous celebrity life behind glasses while we the common people are outside looking in on their lives...he's in a party full of glamorous ppl...it's like he's life has been like this and it feels like forever sitting all alone inside his head despite of being surrounded by beautiful rich people..."so while you're outside looking in" probably pertains to us looking at the lives of those celebrities...as the music video progresses, you would soon find out that those people there are just cardboards...meaning those people are not really real figuratively speaking... "how much is real?"..like it's somehow difficult to find the 'real' people in the celebrity's life.."and it's the STARS"---obviously, the celebs or stars that shine for us who are actually just showing off or pretending for the people..."the stars that lie to you"...anyhow, as you can see in the video when they sang as a band, their background was hollowood...meaning this actually pertains to the hollowness and shallowness of living the glamour life of being a celebrity

It's about the music industry, and how fake it is becoming, and how hard it is not to sell out when thats all anybody does to make it somewhere, but hes not going to sell out. "the stars that lie to you" how many fakes are there out there? this is definitely my fave stone sour song, I can listen to it 40 times on repeat and not get sick of it (which i do everyday) Corey Taylor is an incredible artist. I love that he doesnt take peoples #!@%*#, and just lays it all out and says it straight, no bullshit, thats what this song is about <3

I like to listen to a song and see how it fits my life. This song make me think of me and my boyfriend and me, because he is in prison and we have to have visits behind glass:( so when I hear this song it reminds me of that. Good Song Thumbs up

nice song. i know, they do have better songs, but its something about the strong lyrics, along with the acoustic and a bit of how its actually sung, that makes it so.... i dont know, amazing?? :]

I don't know why this was such a huge hit. This is a good song, but Stone Sour has so many better songs.

This is about his battle with alcohol. "Don't know how much time is passed" is a reference to living life in a haze. I think a lot of it revolves around that and self examination. I think it feeling like forever is the same thing, the time from when he wasn't in that haze and feeling like home is when an abusive lifestyle has become your 'norm' and the only way you're comfortable with dealing with life.

I think it is about the new "reality" TV stars and how it isn't "reality" at all.

This song is much deeper than what anyone has replied. As he states in the lyrics "an epidemic of the mannequins contaminating everything" and "just listen to the noises null & void instead of voices. For anyone with any sense of identity and self along with some knowledge "im looking at you through the gl****" is a concept of examining one's self in the context of who you are vs. what others see you as. He is singing this song to himself. He doesnt know how much time has past because he forgot who he was along the way. Thats why he says before you tell yourself its just a different scene, remember its just different from what you've seen. He/Himself has stayed the same, its the same scene, its just different from what he's seen. He is examining himself. Mannequins and null & void noises instead of voices- we've all been conditioned, we live in a society where we dont examine ourselves or realize we are a separate entity. Mostly everyone is fake because of the lack of looking through the gl****. SO WHILE YOUR OUTSIDE LOOKING IN DESCRIBING WHAT YOU SEE REMEMBER WHAT YOUR STARING AT IS ME. how much is real so much to question- how do YOU feel that is the question, but i forget you dont expect an easy answer. He is singing/writing/talking/examining himself. He isn't going to give an easy answer, he is really trying to find himself. It's beautiful

by the way, to Rose Doll...I agree with you as well, all lyrics are forms of art and yes art can be seen in anyway to each individual, thats what makes a good song, that it can relate to large m****es of people in many different ways. So theres the meaning Stone sour wrote the song, and theres also the fact that it can relate to whatever you wish it. To whomever wishes it.
