You Found Me Lyrics

Fray

I found God on the corner of 1st and Amistad Where the West was all but won All alone, smoking his last cigarette I said, "Where you been?" He said, "Ask anything"
Where were you when everything was falling apart? All my days were spent by the telephone that never rang And all I needed was a call that never came To the corner of 1st and Amistad
Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me Lying on the floor surrounded, surrounded Why'd you have to wait? Where were you? Where were you? Just a little late, you found me, you found me
But in the end everyone ends up alone Losing her, the only one who's ever known Who I am, who I'm not and who I wanna be No way to know how long she will be next to me
Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me [ From: http://www.metrolyrics.com/you-found-me-lyrics-fray.html ] Lying on the floor surrounded, surrounded Why'd you have to wait? Where were you? Where were you? Just a little late, you found me, you found me!
The early morning, the city breaks And I've been calling for years and years and years and years And you never left me no messages You never sent me no letters You got some kind of nerve taking all I want!
Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me Lying on the floor, where were you? Where were you?
Lost and insecure, you found me, you found me Lying on the floor surrounded, surrounded Why'd you have to wait? Where were you? Where were you? Just a little late, you found me, you found me!
Why'd you have to wait to find me, to find me?

it's about a guy who grew up (like so many others) believing in god and that god will take care of him, but turmoil within him begins to take in, he grew horribly depressed and it was like a war in his mind, the east saying have faith in god, live and the west saying you're worthless just die.
"where the west was all but won"
it shows him committing suicide the whole time expecting god to save him from himself,
and thus discovering the many flaws of god
"lost and insecure, you found me, you found me, lying on the floor, surrounded, surrounded, why'd you have to wait?, where were you?, where were you?, just a little late"

basically the entire song are examples for this explanation, it's really pretty simple when you look at the lyrics

This song is a deep expression of pain and confusion. In our world, we are so afraid to be human--to make mistakes, to take a leap of faith and end up falling, to love someone with our entire being and end up losing them one way or another. We feel betrayed, broken, like the world is set up just to make us hurt. We lose our ability to believe in anything, and we can't trust anyone, not even ourselves. We look for something concrete-- something we can taste, or touch, or see--to prove that someone still cares about us, even if it is something as small as a phone call. Whether or not we believe in a divine figure or a god, we are all searching for some kind of truth in our lives, some kind of beauty and love. But it's hard to see past pain as blinding as betrayal and loss, to trust in something we can't see when our eyes are filled with suffering. We forget that along with times of pain, fear, and confusion come times of comfort, courage, and revelation. If we push through the storm, clear blue skies are waiting on the other side. The only way we can weather the storm is faith--in ourselves, in others, in a better future to come. Faith not in the form of passive waiting, but in action to try and be that concrete sign of a better future. We have so much left to do.

arguements can be made on (any) religon based on scripture, biblical dates, and predictions- which are proven in time- but nothing holds light to the way religon has shaped world history on any leval, singular or whole. the impact of god on the historical population cannot go without notice, every corner of the world has felt the touch of cristianity judaism or islam. but to an individual god is a beacon of hope that they so urgeingly want to grasp, to hold on to because it brings cleansing light into a sooten mask there life creates without god, and drives there life into the horizon free, and with goal in mind; into a life that is well lived for everyone. if god gives a similar life to over a billion people then it leads our population into the horizon with a goal to live by, this can only be a good thing in a world that is encompased by fear and violence.
